A Grand Success.

The spelling match and pie supper given Friday evening, Feb. 26, by the Walters school, Limestone Township, Miss Clara Brown, teacher was a grand success.

Messrs. Shoup and Odewalt rendered some excellent music after which Miss Pearl Haller and Oscar Walters came to the front of the room and chose up. Thirty persons stood up to spell. All spelled well. After a time only the Misses Ada Stewart, Pearl Haller, Myrtle Bontz, Edith Walters and Eunice Walters remained standing. Finally Miss Edith Walters was declared champion speller.

Mr. Blandin then mounted a chair and in his jovial manner, sold fifteen pies which brought $15.15. The highest price paid for a pie was $1.75, by Will Davis.

The house was crowded to its utmost capacity. There was nothing to mar the pleasure of the evening. After the pies were all sold, more music was given and Mr. Todd sang several songs. A more liberal crowd of young people cannot be found than those who attended the pie supper. Hurrah for Walters School.
